I hear you have a Valentine's date with Steven.

If you are getting him chocolates, make sure they are vegan. He will cheat and eat regular chocolate, but boy hasn't had all that much milk since and that's not fun. There are plenty of perfectly good chocolate that's vegan friendly.

Can you bake?

... I didn't intend to get him anything. We're going to the Tides and having an evening out.

It would probably be best if someone who knows what they're doing helps me. I've never made chocolate. Of any kind. Ever.

What do I need to have on hand to make this chocolate?

Get some cocoa butter, cocoa powder, and maple syrup. The rest I will bring since I have it on hand. Do you have a double boiler? If not, I can bring mine.

I will even bring some heart shaped molds so they are extra Valentine'sy.

One: Steven can't have butter.
Two: Why would you boil something twice?

one: it's "butter" made from a plant, vegan friendly. Just make sure it's cocoa butter, nothing else. If you can't find it, I'll grab some.
two: chocolate will burn if it's right against the stove, so a double boiler is two pots that nestle together so one boils water right on the stove and gently heats the other so the chocolate doesn't burn.
